Welcome to a collection of Grand Canyon photos! The photos on the following pages were taken during a backpacking trip to Grand Canyon National Park. The trip, conducted under the auspices of the Grand Canyon Field Institute and led by geologist and author Wayne Ranney, began on October 10th, 2005 and ended about 25 miles and several days later on October 14th, 2005. Wayne recently published a new book entitled Carving Grand Canyon: Evidence, Theories and Mystery. That book is available from the Field Institute using the link above. Brent Alexander has already sent me a bunch of photos and I've added them to the album. Additional photos from other backpack participants will be added as they become available. Stay tuned!
